VENTURA – Fugitive cosmetics heir Andrew Luster was sentenced Tuesday to 124 years in prison for drugging and raping three women.
Superior Court Judge Ken Riley also ordered Luster, 39, the great-grandson of makeup legend Max Factor, to pay $1 million in restitution.
Luster was convicted in absentia last month on 86 counts including rape, sodomy, drug and weapons possession and poisoning. He vanished Jan. 3 during a two-week recess in his trial.
Prosecutors said Luster took three women to his Mussel Shoals home between 1996 and 2000 and raped them after giving them the so-called date-rape drug GHB.
He was arrested in July 2000 after a University of California, Santa Barbara, student told police he drugged and assaulted her. A search of his home turned up videotapes of Luster having sex with women who appeared to be either asleep or unconscious.
The defense argued that the women consented to sex.
All three victims spoke during the sentencing hearing.
"The nightmares of Andrew Luster haunt me" said one victim.
"GHB is a scary drug and a monster like Andrew Luster only needs a capful to victimize women," the woman said.
Another victim told the court she was drugged, raped and tortured by Luster in 1996.
"I was pregnant with twins when I learned what he had done, sadly I miscarried one of them," she said. She added, "I experience horrifying night terrors, often screaming. I am still afraid to fall asleep every night."
The third woman sobbed as she spoke.
"I'm going to have to live with this the rest of my life," she said.
Admin: Tonjia, no doubt. Was it Andrew Luster, or could it have been the cocaine she was reportedly using that caused the miscarriage?

She was "tortured" and didn't know it for three years? This is the same "victim" who admitted in open court not only to taking GHB recreationally with Andrew Luster, but to then lying about it to the court and police. This issue wasn't some insignificant minor detail. It was "material" to the case. The criminal jury couldn't find her credible which is why the 87th count of poisoning was thrown out-yet she was awarded millions by the judge in the civil suit. What else may she have lied about?
