I INFORMED HIM THAT SHE HIRES A CONVICTED FELON DOG TO WORK HER CASE'S AND ABOUT LEGAL / CIVIL RAMIFICATIONS . ( WHAT IF ). HE IS CONCERNED. THIS IS MY REPLY: If you go to his website at www.dogthebountyhunter.com/ and click on In The Press you will see where he bounty hunts in Colorado. I don't know for what bail company. On Fox News (Rita Cosby) last weekend he stated he had 10 people to go after beginning Monday; the interview also stated he just returned to his home in Denver. His alleged wife (they are not married but the media refers to her as his wife) Alice Elizabeth Barmore (a/k/a Beth Smith and Beth Barmore) claims she is a surety agent but I don't know if she writes bail in Colorado. She is licensed in Hawaii but I heard an investigation is underway by Safety National Casualty Corporation, her surety, because of charges pending in Jefferson County Colorado. She is facing the following charges: 18-3-207(1)(A)(B)(I) Extortion-Unlawful Act F418-3-303, False Imprisonment M218-5-102 (1) (c), Forgery- Check/Commercial Instrument F518-3-207 (1)(a)(b)(l), Extortion-Unlawful Act-CSP F518-3-303 and False Imprisonment-CSP M3. A hearing on the charges is scheduled for October 28th 2003 at 8:30 am in Jefferson County District Courtroom 4D. I have attached my statement for your review which has been sent to major newspapers and various media throughout the United States regarding the actions of Mr. Chapman. He has most definitely posted an unfavorable light to fall on all professional bail enforcement agents with his blustery and illegal altercation with Mr. Luster in Mexico. There wasn't even any bounty involved and no surety contracted him to pursue the case. The end result was international attention on his illegal vigilante act in the name of bail enforcement. That is my gripe and the gripe of pro's across the country. We have been getting transcripts of his interviews and in every single interview his story changes. It is unbelievable that a man with so many felony convictions, including murder, can be allowed to run amok and track down fugitives. A petition is being sent around the country to present to your Legislators in quest of closing the 15 year window that allows criminals to bounty hunt. I don't know if we'll be successful but I'm sure the media will soon be assisting in our goal. Thank you for your attention, Ms. Ham. The phone number for the public info office at the Jefferson Co. Sheriff is (303) 271-8512. I wish someone local would call them and get the specifics on her charges, who, what, when, where, etc.

Does anyone know if Beth is licensed to write bail in Colorado? If so, does anyone have the name of the bail bond company she writes for?

I called Beth Ham this morning at the COI. She said Beth is licensed in Colorado but she doesn't have her certificate yet because when she went for renenal either something was wrong with the paperwork or there is an open investigation. Ms. Ham is unable to tell me the specifics. Until and unless Beth is revoked by the DOI she can legally write bail in Colorado but Ms. Ham was interested in the part of the letter Beth sent to the County Counsel stating, "... with ability to write bail in any state."
