Bounty Hunter’s Son CHARGED WITH HATE CRIME
Support for dad loses credibility
Duane’ Dog’ Chapman might want to choose a better spokesperson to defend him against charges of racism. Dog’s oldest son Christopher Hecht declared on national TV that his bounty-hunting dad is not a racist-but the 35 year old was hiding a shocking secret: He was recently charged with a hate crime against a black man!
Christopher was paraded in front of the cameras by Dog after The ENQUIRER released tapes on which Dog can be heard repeatedly using the N-word and forbidding another son, Tucker, from dating an African-American woman. And Christopher had previously told the ENQUIRER he often heard his dad use the N-word-and even passed a lie detector on that point!
Christopher rallied behind his troubled father, telling the gossip Web site TMZ that Dog is not a bigot. He also appeared on “Larry King Live” to defend the fallen bounty hunter.
But Christopher forgot to mention that he gave a radio interview a few months ago and stated without hesitation that his dad used racist language regularly. Larry King never confronted him with that tape or his own shocking past.
The ENQUIRER has discovered that Christopher was arrested on June 16, 2007, in Colorado and charged with “ethnic intimidation.”
Gloria Hecht, Christopher’s adoptive mother, told The ENQUIRER; “He got into an argument with a black guy and called him a “n-gger,” gave him the finger, threw a drink or liquid on him and threatened to beat the guy up.”
He was arrested by the Weld County, Colo., Sheriff’s Department, charged with “ethnic intimidation/threats” and, according to county officials, pleas bargained the charges down to harassment with obscene words and gestures and paid $310 in fines and court costs.
Christopher also was arrested in 1993 in a gay-bashing incident, The ENQUIRER has learned.
And before Dog decided to use Christopher as his “character witness,” his own attorney trashed Dog’s son in a letter to The ENQUIRER! Dog’s attorney’s wrote to tell us that while in prison Christopher “became a skinhead and joined the Aryan Nation,” a violent racist cult.
“I thought it was ridiculous that Dog would have Christopher vouching for him, that he was not a racist, when Christopher has been a racist his whole life,” Gloria told The ENQUIRER.
“He uses the N-word all the time, and has been in a lot of confrontations with black people.”
The explosive tapes of Dog have caused a storm of outrage worldwide and led to “Dog the Bounty Hunter” being suspended by the A&E cable network.
